The Black House is the kind of old Vermont farmhouse people picture when they picture a Vermont weekend: wide boards, a wood stove behind glass, a record player, and shelves of good books in every room. It has been carefully renovated without losing any of that.
Out back, a stone fire pit, an outdoor shower and a wood-burning sauna are tucked into the edge of the forest, with marked trails leading off into the trees. You can't see or hear a neighbor. Magic Mountain is ten minutes away; the rest of the weekend is up to you.
